In August of 2016, Susan began her teaching career at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning teaching in the 3/4 community.ĭarnelle Earl was born in Utah and then lived in Idaho. She was soon enrolled in school and graduated in 2015 from Ashford University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. While working as a substitute teacher for the Box Elder School District, she fell in love with teaching. Susan moved to Willard in the summer of 2005 and over the next few years six children came into her home – four girls and two boys. She has also worked as a florist, a cashier, a typesetter and a custodian. She enjoyed this career for nearly 15 years, working in clinics in Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and Salt Lake City. She graduated from Rigby High School and then went to Eastern Idaho Technical College to become a dental assistant. I wiped the sweat off my brow, rubbed my hands on my jeans, and opened my mind to exploring all kinds of different passions here at Clay High School, where I know so many other students would love to come and learn. There are clubs, vast amounts of sports, a volunteer program, AP, CCP, and teachers dedicated to helping you graduate and see you grow as a student. I even plan join Broomball, an up and coming sport. But I made friends, I discovered my love for books here and even started up my own club here because of the opportunities given here at Clay. I didn’t go to the elementary schools other kids went to, so I was the black sheep my first day of 5th grade. That’s how I felt when I came into the Oregon school system from the Toledo schools. Junior: Ever entered a room and felt everyone look at you? Your palms start to sweat and you quickly look for a friend, or a seat. Though I am exited to see venture where my path leads, I know that I will feel the loss of the school where I have grown and the those there along the way. Though I have toiled and inevitably failed, I have learned to savor the defeats and have reconstructed them to be stepping stones towards the future I want and who I ultimately want to be. I truly felt like there were people I could rely on, even through my darkest times. They invest in our growth as learners and as individuals every step of the way.
